Throughout the 1990s, Karolina became a regular performer at Skopje Fest, a music contest used to choose Macedonia's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. She participated with songs like "Koj da ti kaže" ("Who to tell you") in 1994 and "Ukradeni noќi" ("Stolen nights") in 1998, which placed fourth.

Her second album, Zošto Sonot Ima Kraj (Why Does the Dream Have an End), came out in 2002. That same year, she won Skopje Fest with the song "Od nas zavisi" ("It Depends on Us"). This gave her the chance to represent Macedonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002, where she finished in 19th place.

In 2003, she released her third album, Znaeš Kolku Vredam (You Know What I'm Worth). Her career grew, and she became popular in other countries like Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
