How Karolína Plíšková Plays Tennis
Plíšková plays with a very strong and attacking style. She has a powerful and accurate serve. Her groundstrokes are forceful, and she is good at the net. Her serve is her biggest strength. It is known for its speed and precision. She often hits many aces. Her first serve can reach speeds of about 175 km/h (109 mph). It can even go up to 192 km/h (119 mph).
Between 2013 and 2019, Plíšková was among the top 10 players for aces. She served the most aces in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019. In 2016, she served 530 aces, which was a record for a single year. Her groundstrokes are powerful. She can hit winners from anywhere on the court. Her forehand is very strong. She hits it flat and with great power. She can also create sharp angles with her shots.
Plíšková is good at volleys because of her doubles experience. She mostly plays from the back of the court. But she will sometimes come to the net to finish points. She can also use a "serve-and-volley" tactic to surprise opponents. This means she serves and then immediately runs to the net.
However, Plíšková's movement on the court is not her strongest point. While it has gotten better, it can still be a weakness. This means opponents can sometimes hit shots she can't reach quickly enough. She can struggle against players who move her around a lot. Her playing style works well on all court types. She has won titles on hard, clay, and grass courts.
