Rennae Stubbs (born on March 26, 1971) is an Australian former professional tennis player. She also worked as a coach and is now a television commentator. Rennae was ranked number 1 in the world for doubles tennis. She won four major doubles titles and two mixed doubles titles at Grand Slam tournaments. She also won 66 WTA doubles titles.

Rennae hosts "The Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast." She used to work for the Seven Network as an analyst and is now a full-time tennis commentator for ESPN. She was also part of the Australian Institute of Sport. In 2019, she received the OLY post-nominal title. She is the longest-serving member of the Australian BJK Cup team.

Playing Career Highlights

Rennae Stubbs reached her highest singles ranking of 64 on the WTA Tour. However, she was truly amazing in doubles. She won four Grand Slam doubles titles and two mixed-doubles titles. In 2000, she was ranked the world's number 1 doubles player.

Rennae proudly represented Australia at four Summer Olympic Games. These were in Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, and Beijing 2008.

Stubbs has won more doubles titles than any other Australian woman. She won 60 titles between 1992 and 2010. She achieved this success with eleven different partners. In 2001, Rennae won the year-end WTA Championships with her partner Lisa Raymond. They were named ITF World Champions that year.

Rennae is the longest-serving player for the Australia Fed Cup team. She played for 17 years starting in 1992. She had a great record of 28 wins and 9 losses in doubles matches. This is the second-highest record in Australian Fed Cup Team history. She stopped playing for the Fed Cup team after the 2011 match against Italy. Rennae played her last tour match at the 2011 US Open. She finished her career by winning the World TeamTennis title for the third time with the Washington Kastles. This was her fifth overall WTT title.

Broadcasting Career

After her playing career, Rennae Stubbs quickly became a successful television commentator. She has worked for TV networks like ESPN, Tennis Channel, and Channel Seven Australia. In 2024, she started hosting her own sports show called "The Power Hour" on Amazon.

She was also the main female analyst for NBC at the 2012 London Olympics, the 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and the Paris Olympics. Currently, she co-hosts the podcast "The French Connection" with Sam Querrey for NBC Sports and Racquet.

In 2022, Embassy Row announced that Rennae would host "The Power Hour" on Amazon Prime Video. She made her first appearance on the show on November 14, 2022.

Coaching Roles

From August 2018 to spring 2019, Rennae Stubbs coached Karolína Plíšková. After that, she joined the coaching team for Samantha Stosur. They planned to work together for the rest of 2019. Because Stosur did so well, they decided to continue into 2020. With Stubbs as her coach, Stosur won a Grand Slam title. This was the 2021 U.S. Open doubles, which she won with her partner Zhang Shuai.

Rennae also coached Genie Bouchard during 2020. Under Stubbs' guidance, Bouchard's ranking improved a lot. She went from 330 to 120 on the WTA rankings.

For the 2022 US Open, Stubbs coached Serena Williams. This was Serena Williams' last Grand Slam tournament. Williams reached the third round of the competition.

Rennae Stubbs enjoys watching the TV show Lost. She also says she is very good at playing Scrabble.
