Katie Weatherston (born April 6, 1983) is a Canadian former ice hockey player. She also coached the Lebanese women’s national ice hockey team. Katie was part of the Canadian women's national ice hockey team. She won a gold medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. She also won medals at two IIHF Women's World Championships.

Playing Career Highlights

Katie Weatherston played college ice hockey for four years. She was part of the Dartmouth Big Green women's ice hockey team. This was from 2002 to 2005, and again in the 2006–07 season.

She first joined the Canadian national team in 2004. This was for the Four Nations Cup. For the 2005–06 school year, Katie took a break from college. She wanted to focus on getting ready for the 2006 Winter Olympics.

After college, Katie played in the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL). This was during the 2007–08 season. She started with the Ottawa Capital Canucks. Later, she moved to the Montréal Stars to finish the season.

In 2009, Katie got a concussion during a hockey game. This was not her first concussion. But this time, the symptoms lasted for over two years. This meant she could not play in the 2010 Winter Olympics. It also ended her playing career early.

Katie Weatherston received several awards during her career. She was named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team in 2003. She was also an All-Ivy Rookie Team member that year. In 2007, she was the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the ECAC Tournament. In 2008, she was an All-Star in the Canadian Women's Hockey League. She was also part of the CWHL All-Rookie Team.
