Later in the season, he had a great game with four catches for 85 yards. He finished his first year with 16 catches for 257 yards.
2018 Season
Bourne continued as a backup wide receiver in 2018. On September 16, 2018, he scored his first career touchdown! It was a four-yard pass from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
He got his first start in Week 8 and had seven catches for 71 yards. By the end of the 2018 season, Bourne had 42 catches for 487 yards and four touchdowns. He was the leading wide receiver for the 49ers in terms of catches and yards.

In the Super Bowl, they played against the Kansas City Chiefs. Even though the 49ers lost, Bourne had two catches for 42 yards in the big game.
2020 Season
The 49ers re-signed Bourne for another year in April 2020. During the season, he was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list a couple of times, meaning he had to be away from the team for a short period.
