Kennard (/kəˈnɑːrd/ -nard) is a small city in Houston County, Texas, United States. In 2020, about 272 people lived there. It is known for being surrounded by the beautiful Davy Crockett National Forest. The main road that goes through Kennard is Texas State Highway 7.

About Kennard's Location

Kennard is located in the eastern part of Houston County, Texas. The city is completely surrounded by the Davy Crockett National Forest. This means there are lots of trees and nature nearby.

Texas State Highway 7 is an important road here. It goes west about 16 miles (26 km) to Crockett, which is the main town of the county. If you go northeast on Highway 7, you will reach Nacogdoches, which is about 37 miles (60 km) away.

Land and Water

The city of Kennard covers a total area of about 1.3 square miles (3.4 square kilometers). All of this area is land, meaning there are no large lakes or rivers within the city limits.

Small streams called forks of Cochino Bayou flow through the city. These streams eventually flow eastward into the Neches River.
