Kevin Shinick (born March 19, 1969) is a talented American writer, producer, director, and actor. He also creates comic books. Kevin won an Emmy Award for his work on the animated show Robot Chicken. He was also nominated for an Emmy for Mad, a cartoon based on the famous humor magazine. Later, he became the main producer for the Disney XD show Spider-Man. You might also remember him as the ACME Time Net Squadron Leader from the PBS show Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego?.

Early Life and Education
Kevin Shinick was born in Merrick, New York, which is a town on Long Island. He went to Sanford H. Calhoun High School. After high school, he studied at Hofstra University. There, he earned degrees in both theatre and communication. While in college, he even appeared on a game show called Jackpot! in 1989. He won a share of $14,500!
His Work in Theatre
Just one year after college, Kevin started acting on Broadway. Broadway is where some of the biggest and best plays are performed in New York City. He was in a play called The Seagull with famous actors like Ethan Hawke and Laura Linney.
He acted in several other Broadway shows, including Night Must Fall with Matthew Broderick. He also appeared in plays like The School For Scandal and The Government Inspector. He was part of two plays, Timon of Athens and Saint Joan, that were nominated for Tony Awards. Tony Awards are like the Oscars for theatre!
In 2002, Kevin wrote and directed a special live show called Spider-Man Live!. This was a Broadway-style show based on the popular superhero. It was performed in big places like Radio City Music Hall and toured across 40 cities in the U.S. It was the first full-length live stage show ever made about Spider-Man!
Television and Film Projects
Kevin Shinick has worked on many TV shows and movies. In 1996, he was a host on the PBS show Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego?. This role was so popular that he even appeared on trading cards and action figures!
In 2004, he wrote, directed, and starred in a romantic comedy movie called It's About Time.
One of his most famous jobs started in 2007. He began writing for the Adult Swim animated show Robot Chicken. This show is known for its funny stop-motion animation. Over time, Kevin also became a director and producer for the show. He even won an Emmy for his work on it!
In 2010, Kevin helped create another animated sketch comedy show called Mad with Mark Marek. He also produced and wrote for this show. Mad ran for four seasons and was very popular.
From 2017 to 2018, Kevin was a producer and writer for the Disney XD series Spider-Man. He also joined the writing team for the Netflix comedy show Disjointed in 2017.
As an actor, Kevin has appeared in many TV shows. He has guest starred in shows like Grimm and Major Crimes. He is also known for voicing Bruce Banner in the animated shows Avengers Assemble, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Spider-Man.
In 2024, it was announced that Kevin Shinick will play Dick Clark in a movie called Michael. This movie is about the life of Michael Jackson.
Comic Book Writing
Since 2009, Kevin Shinick has written comic books for two of the biggest comic companies: Marvel Comics and DC Comics.
For DC Comics, he wrote for "Batman 80-Page Giant" and "Joker's Asylum II: Clayface." For Marvel Comics, he wrote stories for "Avenging Spider-Man", "Superior Carnage", "Superior Spider-Man Team-Up", and "AXIS: Hobgoblin."
Young Adult Novels
In 2019, Kevin wrote a young adult novel called Force Collector. This book is part of the Journey to Star Wars series, which tells new stories in the Star Wars universe.
