Scooby-Doo! and Kiss: Rock and Roll Mystery is an animated comedy mystery movie released in 2015. It's the 25th film in the direct-to-video Scooby-Doo series. You could watch it digitally starting July 10, 2015, or buy it on DVD and Blu-ray from July 21, 2015. This movie was the last time Mindy Cohn voiced the character Velma Dinkley. After this, Kate Micucci took over the role. The art style of the film was inspired by the famous comic book artist Jack Kirby.
The Mystery at Kiss World
The story begins with Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby-Doo heading to a fun park called Kiss World. They want to see the famous rock band Kiss perform their big Halloween concert. Daphne is especially excited because she has a crush on Starchild (Paul Stanley), which makes Fred a little jealous.
When they arrive, the park's security chief, Delilah Domino, tries to stop them from entering. But the gang sneaks in anyway. Delilah catches them, but then the band Kiss arrives. After the gang explains they are there to help with a mystery, Kiss tells Delilah to let them stay. The Demon (Gene Simmons) is not happy at first because Scooby accidentally sprayed him with a water gun. But he soon changes his mind.
The gang splits up to look for clues. Shaggy and Scooby are chased by a strange creature. Kiss comes to help them. The band tells the gang that the creature is called the Crimson Witch. She has been causing trouble at the park for a while. Kiss needs her to disappear before their concert can start.
A mysterious fortune teller named Chikara tells them the witch is from another universe called Kissteria. She plans to use a special Black Diamond, which Kiss uses in their song "Detroit Rock City", to call a monster called The Destroyer. This monster would then try to take over Earth. Velma finds this hard to believe.
To stop the Crimson Witch, the gang uses the diamond to attract her. But the Crimson Witch chases them through a portal into Kissteria. She manages to steal the diamond and unleash The Destroyer. Luckily, the gang and Kiss arrive in a spaceship to stop the monster.
After their adventure, the gang returns to Earth. They wake up believing the witch's gas made them imagine everything. They then unmask the Crimson Witch. It turns out to be Delilah, the security chief! She wanted to sell the Black Diamond, which is important for laser technology, to another company. She was doing this to get back at her old employers.
At the end, Starchild gives Daphne a kiss. Daphne then gives Fred a kiss on the cheek, which makes him happy. The Demon even smiles at Shaggy and Scooby. Shaggy and Scooby then see Kiss fly away with the black diamond. Shaggy asks Scooby if they should tell Velma what they saw. Scooby says no, asking, "why rock her world?"
