A Glimpse into History

Kewarra Beach is on the traditional lands of the Djabugay Aboriginal people. The name 'Kewarra' is thought to come from an Aboriginal word. It might mean 'at the foot of the rainbow'. However, experts are still working to confirm this meaning.

For a long time, the land here was used to grow sugar cane. Then, in the 1970s and 1990s, the area started to be developed. More houses were built, and a golf course called Paradise Palms was created.

In 2002, Trinity Anglican School opened a campus in Kewarra Beach.
