His Work and Ideas

Understanding Leonardo da Vinci

In 1986, Kim Veltman wrote a book called "Studies on Leonardo da Vinci I: Linear Perspective and the Visual Dimensions of Science and Art." In this book, he looked at the work of Leonardo da Vinci in a new way. He focused on what Leonardo showed us through his art and drawings, rather than just what he wrote.

Virtual Maastricht McLuhan Institute

The Virtual Maastricht McLuhan Institute (VMMI) is a research center that studies new media. It is named after Marshall McLuhan, a famous thinker about media. The institute started in 1998 as the Maastricht McLuhan Institute and changed its name in 2004.

The VMMI explores how new media has changed learning and knowledge over time. This includes how it affects subjects like grammar, logic, and math. Today, the institute focuses on how we organize knowledge and use computers in culture.
