Kindred is a small city in Cass County, North Dakota, United States. In 2020, about 889 people lived there. Kindred is often called a "bedroom community" for Fargo. This means many people who live in Kindred travel to Fargo for work or school. Fargo is about 25 miles (40 km) away.

History of Kindred

Kindred was first planned out in 1880. This happened when a railroad line was built to that spot. The city got its name from William A. Kindred. He was a local businessman. Later, he even became the mayor of Fargo. A post office opened in Kindred in 1881. The town officially became a city in 1949.
