Kirsten Holmstedt facts for kids
Kirsten A. Holmstedt is an American author and journalist. She has written for newspapers, magazines and business publications. Holmstead is the author of two books on women in the military.

Early life
She was born and grew up in Mystic, Connecticut, USA. In 1985 she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Drake University. In 2006, she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Nonfiction Writing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Career
Besides two books on women and the military, she has written other articles on military issues. She left her job as a public information officer for Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, North Carolina to be a freelance writer.
