The Band's Journey

Early Days as 21 Demands (2005–2011)

Kodaline started their journey as "21 Demands". They first became famous in 2006. This was when they were on a TV talent show called You're a Star in Ireland. They finished as the second-best act on the show.

On March 3, 2007, 21 Demands released their first song. It was called "Give Me a Minute". This song made history in Ireland. It became the first song released by an independent band to reach number one on the Irish Singles Chart. The band also wrote another song, "One of Those Days". They performed it on an Irish online music channel called BalconyTV.

First Album: In a Perfect World (2012–2014)

The band released their first collection of songs, called an extended play (EP), in September 2012. It was named The Kodaline EP. One of their songs, "All I Want", became very popular. BBC Radio 1 chose it as their "Record of the Week".

"All I Want" was also used in a TV show called Grey's Anatomy. It was also featured in Google's "2012: Year in Review" video. In December 2012, the BBC nominated Kodaline for their "Sound of 2013" poll. This poll highlights new and exciting music artists.
