Kodi Smit-McPhee (born on June 13, 1996) is an actor from Australia. He became well-known as a child actor for his main roles in the movies The Road (2009) and Let Me In (2010).
He also voiced the main character in ParaNorman (2012). Later, he appeared in big films like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), Alpha (2018), and Dark Phoenix (2019).
In 2021, Kodi Smit-McPhee received great praise for his role in the western film The Power of the Dog. For this role, he won a Golden Globe Award. He was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Recently, he has been in the TV show Disclaimer and the movie Maria, both from 2024.

Kodi Smit-McPhee was born in Adelaide, South Australia, on June 13, 1996. His mother is Sonja Smit and his father is Andy McPhee. His father is also an actor and used to be a professional wrestler. Kodi has an older sister named Sianoa Smit-McPhee, who is also an actress and singer.
When he was 16, Kodi was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis. This is a type of arthritis that affects the spine. It can cause pain and sometimes affect vision. While filming The Power of the Dog, his left eye's vision was affected by this condition.

Kodi Smit-McPhee's first major movie role was in Romulus, My Father in 2007. For this film, he won an AFI Award for Best Young Actor. He was also nominated for Best Actor.
His role in The Road (2009) earned him a nomination for Best Young Actor. The next year, he starred in Let Me In. He received another nomination for Best Young Actor for this movie.
Voice Acting and Animated Films
