What is Poppy Cat About?
The series follows a brave young kitten named Poppy. She wears a special neckerchief and leads her group of stuffed animal friends on amazing adventures. Her friends include Alma the bunny, Zuzu the Dalmatian puppy, Owl the owl, and Mo the mouse. These characters belong to a little girl named Lara, who narrates their stories.
In their imaginary world, the animals can walk, talk, and travel to exciting, faraway places. They use all sorts of vehicles that match Poppy's magic neckerchief, like a sailing ship, a train, an airplane, a hot-air balloon, a submarine, or even a rocket ship. But they always have to watch out for Egbert, a grumpy European badger who tries to spoil their fun.
Meet the Characters
Main Characters
- Lara is the person who tells all the stories in the show. She is a six-year-old girl with a big imagination. Lara loves to write and draw about the adventures of her pet kitten, Poppy, and all her stuffed animal friends. She imagines them going on exciting journeys. Lara's voice was provided by Maddie Page and Alisha Holmes in the UK, and Cindy Robinson in the US.
- Poppy Cat is the main character and the leader of the group. She is a lively, cheerful, and very imaginative orange tabby kitten. Poppy has a big white face and long whiskers. Her special multi-colored neckerchief helps her and her friends go on amazing adventures using different vehicles. Poppy is a true adventurer and a loyal friend. She loves to explore and solve problems, always putting her friends first. Her favorite sayings include "Would you like to come along?" and "Hoop-dee-doo!" Poppy's voice was done by Joanna Page and Jessica Ransom in the UK, and Haley "Cake" Charles in the US.
- Zuzu is a fast young black and white Dalmatian puppy. He is Poppy's best friend and loves doing cool tricks on his skateboard. Zuzu is full of energy, competitive, and almost fearless. He's quick to laugh and always ready for action. Joanna Ruiz voiced Zuzu in the UK, and Katie Leigh in the US.
- Alma is a giggly young pink and white European rabbit plush toy. She has a big pink tummy and pink circles on her cheeks. Alma often gets excited about new situations. She loves to sing with her best friend Mo and enjoys jewelry, the color pink, and picnics. Mo secretly likes Alma and often worries about her. She also has many cousins, with Chester being her favorite. Her catchphrases are "Oh, Poppy!" and "Hooray!" Alma was voiced by Nicola Hornett in the UK, and Alicyn Packard in the US.
