The Journey of Koshlong Creek
Koshlong Creek starts its journey near Haliburton County Road 3. From there, it flows west.
Flowing into Koshlong Lake
The creek then reaches the eastern part of Koshlong Lake. It flows into this lake, adding to its waters.
Exiting Koshlong Lake
After passing through Koshlong Lake, the creek exits from the southwest end. A special structure called a dam controls how much water leaves the lake. The creek continues to flow west after leaving the lake.
Joining the Burnt River
Finally, Koshlong Creek reaches its end point, which is called its mouth. Here, it flows into the Burnt River.
Koshlong Creek's Path to Lake Ontario
The Burnt River is a larger river that Koshlong Creek helps to fill. The Burnt River then flows through the Kawartha lakes. From there, its water travels into the Otonabee River. The Otonabee River then flows into the Trent River. Eventually, all this water reaches the very large Lake Ontario. This shows how Koshlong Creek is connected to a much bigger water system.
