Krunal Himanshu Pandya, born on March 24, 1991, is a talented Indian cricketer. He plays for the Baroda in domestic cricket. He also plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Krunal is an all-rounder, which means he is good at both batting and bowling. He bats left-handed and bowls a style called slow left-arm orthodox.
He first played for India in a T20I match in November 2018. In 2021, he made a record by scoring the fastest half-century in his very first One Day International (ODI) match. Krunal has also been a captain for the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL. He is the older brother of another famous cricketer, Hardik Pandya.

Krunal Pandya started his professional cricket career in India. He has played for various teams. His journey shows how he became a skilled all-rounder.
Playing for Baroda
Krunal made his first-class cricket debut on October 6, 2016. He played for the Baroda in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy tournament. In the same season, he became a top player for Baroda in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
He scored 366 runs in 8 matches, averaging 45.75 runs per game. He also took 11 wickets in 8 matches. His best bowling figures were 4 wickets for 20 runs. In October 2018, he was chosen for the India A squad. He played in the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy.
Krunal showed his batting and bowling skills in a match against Railways. He scored 160 runs and 104 runs. He also took 4 wickets for 40 runs and 2 wickets for 19 runs. He was named the captain of Baroda for the 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy. In 2022, he played for the Warwickshire County Cricket Club in England.

Starting with Mumbai Indians
In the 2016 IPL auction, the Mumbai Indians team bought Krunal for 2 crore Indian Rupees. He played his first IPL match in April 2016. This game was against Gujarat Lions in Mumbai. His strong performances in the 2016 IPL season earned him a spot in the top IPL teams chosen by Cricinfo and Cricbuzz.
In 2017, Krunal scored an impressive 86 runs from just 37 balls. He also took important wickets. For his excellent play, he was named the Player of the Match. He continued to perform well throughout the tournament. He was again named Player of the Match in the final. This was for his 47 runs that helped Mumbai Indians win the championship.
In January 2018, the Mumbai Indians signed Krunal again for the 2018 IPL season.
Moving to Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru
In the 2022 IPL auction, the Lucknow Super Giants team bought Krunal. They paid 8.25 crore Indian Rupees for him.
For the 2025 IPL season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru signed Krunal Pandya. He was bought for 5.75 crore Indian Rupees. In that season, he took 17 wickets and scored 109 runs. He also won the Player of the Match award in the final. This was for his great bowling against Punjab Kings. This made him the first player ever to win two Player of the Final awards in IPL history.
Krunal's International Cricket Career
Krunal Pandya has also represented India on the international stage. He has played in both Twenty20 International (T20I) and One Day International (ODI) matches.
Playing for India in T20Is
In October 2018, Krunal was selected for India's Twenty20 International (T20I) teams. He played against the West Indies and Australia. He made his T20I debut for India on November 4, 2018. This match was against the West Indies. He took one wicket and scored 21 runs without being out.
He played all three matches against Australia. In one match, he took 4 wickets for 36 runs in 4 overs. This performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
ODI Debut and Records
In March 2021, Krunal was chosen for India's One Day International (ODI) team. This was for their series against England. He made his ODI debut for India on March 23, 2021. He scored 58 runs without being out against England. His fifty runs came from just 26 balls. This was the fastest half-century ever scored by a player in their first ODI match.
Personal Life of Krunal Pandya
Krunal Pandya has a close family. He is the older brother of fellow Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya. Krunal married Pankhuri Sharma on December 27, 2017. They have two sons. Their first son, Kavir Krunal Pandya, was born on July 18, 2022. Their second son, Vayu Krunal Pandya, was born on April 21, 2024.
In January 2022, Krunal's Twitter account was hacked. Some unusual tweets were posted from it. Later that day, the hacker's tweets were removed. Krunal then posted a tweet apologizing for the incident.
