Hardik Himanshu Pandya (born 11 October 1993) is a famous Indian cricketer. He plays for the Indian cricket team. Hardik is an all-rounder, which means he is good at both batting and bowling.
He bats right-handed in the middle of the batting order. He bowls right-arm medium-fast deliveries. Many people think he is one of the best all-rounders in white-ball cricket today.
Pandya has played for India in all three types of international cricket: Test, One Day International (ODI), and Twenty20 International (T20I). He is the captain of the Mumbai Indians team in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He also plays for his home team, Baroda, in Indian domestic cricket.
He was the vice-captain of the Indian team that won the 2024 T20 World Cup. In the final match, he bowled the last over, helping India win the trophy.

Early Life and Cricket Start
Hardik Pandya was born on 11 October 1993 in Choryasi, Surat, Gujarat, India. When he was five, his father, Himanshu Pandya, moved the family to Vadodara. This move was to help Hardik and his brother get better cricket training.
His father enrolled both Hardik and his brother, Krunal Pandya, in Kiran More's cricket academy. The family did not have much money. They lived in a rented apartment and used a second-hand car to get to the cricket ground. Hardik stopped school after ninth grade to focus completely on cricket.
Hardik did very well in junior cricket. His brother, Krunal, said that Hardik "won a lot of matches single-handedly" for his club team. Hardik once said that he was left out of state teams because he was "just an expressive child" who showed his feelings openly.

Playing in India
Pandya has played for the Baroda cricket team since 2013. He helped Baroda win the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in the 2013–14 season. In January 2016, he hit 86 runs not-out, including eight sixes. This helped Baroda win against Vidarbha cricket team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Indian Premier League Journey
Hardik Pandya played for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL from 2015 to 2021. In one important match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, he scored 61 runs off just 31 balls. This helped Mumbai Indians win and stay in the playoffs. He was named man of the match for his performance.

Pandya was included in India's Test team for their home series against England in late 2016. However, he got injured during training and could not play.
He was then named in the team that toured Sri Lanka in July 2017. He played his first Test match on 26 July in Galle. In the third and final Test match against Sri Lanka, Pandya scored his first Test century. He became the first Indian batsman to score a Test century just before lunch. He also set a record for scoring the most runs in one over of a Test innings for India, with 26 runs. This record was later broken by Jasprit Bumrah. This century was his first century in any international cricket match.
Personal Life

Hardik Pandya's brother, Krunal Pandya, has also played for India and the Mumbai Indians. Their father, Himanshu Pandya, passed away in January 2021.
Pandya got engaged to dancer and actress Nataša Stanković on 1 January 2020. Their first child, a boy named Agastya Pandya, was born on 30 July 2020. On 14 February 2023, the couple renewed their wedding vows in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The couple mutually separated in July 2024.
