Hardik's Early Life
Hardik Pandya was born on October 11, 1993, in Choryasi, Surat, Gujarat. His father, Himanshu Pandya, had a small car finance business. He closed it and moved the family to Vadodara when Hardik was five. This move was so his sons could get better cricket training.
In Vadodara, his father worked as a loan consultant. He enrolled Hardik and his brother, Krunal, in Kiran More's cricket academy. The family lived in a rented apartment. The brothers used a second-hand car to travel to the cricket ground. Hardik studied at MK High School until ninth grade. He then left school to focus completely on cricket.
Hardik improved a lot in junior cricket. His brother, Krunal, said that Hardik "won a lot of matches" by himself in club cricket. Hardik once said that he was left out of state teams because of his "attitude." He explained that he was just a very expressive child. He did not like to hide his feelings.
His father shared that Hardik was a leg spinner until he was 18. He started fast bowling because his Baroda coach, Sanath Kumar, suggested it.
Playing for Teams in India
Hardik Pandya has played for the Baroda since 2013. He helped Baroda win the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in the 2013–14 season. In January 2016, he hit eight sixes in one game. He scored 86 runs without being out. This helped Baroda win against Vidarbha in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Before the IPL 2022 auction, Mumbai Indians released Hardik. A new team from Ahmedabad, the Gujarat Titans, then picked him. They also made him their captain. Hardik led Gujarat to win their first IPL title in 2022. They were the first team since Shane Warne's team in 2008 to win the title in their first year. In IPL 2023, Hardik led the Gujarat Titans to the final again. However, they lost to Chennai Super Kings.
Back to Mumbai Indians: IPL 2024
