Christopher Austin Lynn (born 10 April 1990) is an Australian cricketer. He is a right-handed batter known for hitting powerful sixes. Chris Lynn plays for the Queensland team and the Adelaide Strikers in Australia. He was born in Brisbane, Queensland, and went to St Joseph's College, Nudgee.

Chris Lynn's Cricket Journey
Starting Out in Cricket
Chris Lynn started playing senior cricket for the Toombul District Cricket Club in Brisbane. He also supports the Brisbane Broncos rugby league team.
Lynn played for the Queensland under-19 team. He made his first big professional cricket appearance in March 2010. This was a first-class match against South Australia. A week later, he scored 139 runs in a game against Western Australia. This helped save Queensland from losing.
Playing for the Brisbane Heat
Chris Lynn played for the Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League from 2011 to 2022. He became famous for his strong hitting in this league.
- In his first season (2011–12), he scored 109 runs.
- In his second season (2012–13), he scored 175 runs. This included a quick 51 runs off 29 balls against the Perth Scorchers.
- In his third season (2013–14), he scored 198 runs. His best game was again against the Scorchers, where he made 81 runs.
Lynn was named the best player of the tournament in the Big Bash League twice. He scored a century (101 runs) in 2015 and ended that season as the top run-scorer. In the 2016-17 season, he played only five matches but still scored 309 runs, including 11 sixes in one game! He was again named player of the tournament.
After many successful years, he left the Brisbane Heat in 2022.
Playing Around the World
Chris Lynn has played for many different Twenty20 (T20) teams all over the world.
His Time in India
Lynn joined the Deccan Chargers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2011 and 2012. He then played for the Kolkata Knight Riders from 2014 to 2019. In his first match for them, he scored 45 runs and made an amazing catch.
In IPL 2017, he hit a very fast 50 runs off just 19 balls, including 8 sixes! Later that season, he and Sunil Narine scored 105 runs in the first six overs of a match. This was one of the fastest starts in IPL history. Lynn was a very important player for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
In 2020, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians.
Playing in Other Countries
Lynn has played in many other T20 leagues:
- North America: He played in the Caribbean Premier League for teams like Trinbago Knight Riders and St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. He also played in the Global T20 Canada tournament, leading the Montreal Tigers to a championship win in 2023. He scored the most runs in that tournament.
- Europe: He was chosen to play in the Euro T20 Slam in 2019, but the tournament was cancelled.
- Pakistan: He played for the Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2020. He scored 113 runs not out in one game, which helped his team reach the play-offs for the first time.
Representing Australia
Chris Lynn has also played for the Australian national team.
- He made his first T20 International (T20I) appearance for Australia in January 2014 against England. He scored 33 runs off 19 balls in that game.
- In January 2017, he played his first One Day International (ODI) match for Australia against Pakistan.
Lynn's Playing Style
Chris Lynn is known for his powerful hitting. He can hit sixes that travel over 90 meters! In one Big Bash League game, he hit a ball so hard it landed on the roof of The Gabba stadium. He once scored 91 runs off just 30 balls in a T10 league game, showing his amazing ability to score runs quickly.
