The Multan Sultans are a professional Twenty20 cricket team from Multan, a city in southern Punjab. They play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is a big cricket tournament in Pakistan. The team was started in 2017 as the sixth team to join the PSL.
When they first joined, a company called Schön Properties bought the team. However, they couldn't pay the yearly fees, so their contract was ended. In 2018, a new group led by Alamgir Khan Tareen and Ali Khan Tareen became the owners. Later, Alamgir Khan Tareen became the only owner. After he passed away in July 2023, Ali Khan Tareen took over the ownership again.
The Multan Sultans play their home games at the Multan Cricket Stadium. They won their first PSL title in the 2021 season.

Team History in the PSL
The Multan Sultans joined the Pakistan Super League in 2017. They were the sixth team added to the league. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to add another team after the 2017 season.
Early Years and Ownership Changes
In June 2017, Schön Properties won the bid to own the team for eight years. However, on November 10, 2018, the PCB announced that the team's contract was ended. This happened because Schön Properties did not pay the yearly fee they owed to the PCB.
After this, the PCB took care of all the player and coach contracts. They then looked for new owners for the team. A group called Multan Consortium, led by Alamgir Khan Tareen and Ali Khan Tareen, won the bid to become the new owners. In 2021, Alamgir Khan Tareen became the sole owner. After his death in July 2023, Ali Khan Tareen became the owner once more.
