Kyle William Love (born November 18, 1986) is a former professional American football player. He played as a nose tackle, which is a defensive position on the football field. Kyle Love played for several teams in the NFL, including the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers.

Kyle Love's Early Life

Kyle Love was born in South Korea on November 18, 1986. His father was in the United States Army and was stationed there. Later, Kyle grew up in College Park, Georgia.

He went to North Clayton High School. There, he was a key player on the football team for four years. He played as a lineman on both offense and defense. This means he played both offensive guard and defensive tackle.

In 2003, he was named the best offensive lineman on his team. The next year, in 2004, he was the best defensive lineman. After high school, he received offers to play college football from two universities.

Playing College Football

After high school, Kyle Love went to Mississippi State University. He started playing for the Mississippi State team in 2006. In his first year, he played in seven games as a reserve defensive lineman. He made seven tackles that season.

In 2007, Kyle started in nine games as a defensive tackle. He had 17 tackles and recovered a fumble. During his junior year in 2008, he played in 12 games. He made 14 tackles and had two sacks. In his senior year in 2009, Kyle started 12 games. He achieved his highest number of tackles in college with 19.

Kyle Love's NFL Journey

Kyle Love was not chosen by any team in the 2010 NFL draft. However, he still got a chance to play in the NFL. He signed with the New England Patriots in 2010.

Playing for the Patriots

Kyle Love was one of only two players not drafted to make the Patriots' team in 2010. He played his first NFL game in Week 2 against the New York Jets. He later became a regular player on the defensive line.

In 2011, Kyle took on a bigger role for the Patriots. He played in all 16 games that season. He often played as a nose tackle, which helped the team's defense. He started 13 games and had 33 tackles and three sacks. Kyle also played in Super Bowl XLVI with the Patriots. They lost to the New York Giants, but he made a tackle in the game.

In 2017, Kyle signed a new contract with the Panthers. He played in all 16 games and had 16 tackles and 3.5 sacks, which was a career high. In 2018, he played in 16 games again. He had 19 tackles and forced three fumbles, another career high. He re-signed with the Panthers in 2019.

Kyle Love briefly signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in August 2020 but was released shortly after. On March 26, 2021, Kyle Love announced that he was retiring from professional football.

Kyle Love is married to his wife, Constance. They got married in July 2011. They met while they were both attending Mississippi State University. Kyle and Constance have three children together: a son named Ashton and two daughters named Ava and Aliva. Kyle also played the cello when he was younger.
