La Bargé is a small town located in Lincoln County, Wyoming, in the United States. In 2020, about 394 people lived there. It's not far from another town called Big Piney, about 22.5 miles away.

History of La Bargé
The town of La Bargé is named after a man called Joseph Marie La Barge, Senior. He was a French-Canadian voyageur, which means he was an explorer who traveled by canoe. Later, he became a fur trapper, a mountain man, and even operated steamboats.
Joseph Marie La Barge, Senior was born in L'Assomption, Quebec, on July 4, 1787. He came to the U.S. in 1808, canoeing all the way to St. Louis, Missouri. There, he married a woman named Eulalie Becquette Alvarez-Hortiz. He started trapping furs in the Nebraska Territory and continued his work across the West during the 1830s and 1840s. He was also the father of a famous riverboat captain, Joseph LaBarge.
