Lacey Amelia Turner (born 28 March 1988) is an English actress. She has been acting for over twenty years. She first appeared in the TV show EastEnders in 2004. She played the character Stacey Slater until 2010. Lacey then returned to the show in 2014.
Lacey Turner has won many awards for playing Stacey. She has won over thirty awards. These include four National Television Awards. She also won six British Soap Awards. Plus, she has eight Inside Soap Awards. While she was away from EastEnders, she acted in other shows. These included Being Human (2011) and Call the Midwife (2014). From 2013 to 2014, she starred in Our Girl. She played Molly Dawes in this BBC military drama.

Growing Up: Lacey Turner's Early Life
Lacey Turner was born in Edgware. This is in the London Borough of Barnet. Her parents, Bev and Les, were Catholic. She grew up in Hertfordshire with her two younger sisters. Their home was near the BBC TV studios in Elstree. Lacey often saw the EastEnders set from her window. She could even hear them filming at night. This made her want to become an actress.
Lacey's School Days
When she was 10, Lacey went to the Sylvia Young Theatre School. But she left after one year. She felt it was not right for her. Lacey later shared that she was bullied there. She was called "too geeky." Instead, she went to a local private school for girls. It was called Peterborough and Saint Margaret's School in Bushey. Outside of school, she took dance, singing, and acting classes.

Lacey's first acting jobs were on stage. She also appeared in TV adverts. One famous advert was for Haribo sweets.
Becoming Stacey Slater in EastEnders
In 2004, Lacey tried out for a part in EastEnders. She auditioned for the role of Demi Miller. She did not get that part. However, she was offered a different role. This was for Stacey Slater, a new character. Stacey joined the well-known Slater family. Lacey started on the show the day after leaving school. Her first appearance was in November 2004.
Lacey starred in a special live episode of EastEnders. This was on 19 February 2010. It celebrated the show's 25th birthday. Over 16.6 million people watched this episode. In it, Stacey's husband died. He fell from a roof during a police chase. Stacey then admitted she had killed Archie Mitchell. After her co-star Charlie Clements left, EastEnders wanted Lacey to stay. But she decided to leave in April 2010. She said she wanted to try new things. Lacey left the show on 25 December 2010.
On 6 December 2013, it was announced that Lacey would return. She would play Stacey again. Lacey started filming in January 2014. She appeared on screen on 7 February 2014. She left again on 25 March 2014. Then she came back full-time in August 2014. Since her return, she has been part of important storylines. One was about postpartum psychosis.

In December 2010, Lacey helped Royal Mail with a Christmas campaign. The next year, she played Lia Shaman. This was in the third series of Being Human. She was in the first and last episodes. In March 2011, she played Elizabeth Lavenza. This was in Frankenstein's Wedding. It was a TV show based on the famous book. It aired live from Kirkstall Abbey.
Lacey also appeared in True Love in June 2012. This was a show where actors made up their lines. She was with famous actors like David Tennant. Also in June, she played Ellie in Bedlam. She had experienced pregnancy losses before. On 12 July 2019, their daughter, Dusty Violet Kay, was born. On 21 September 2020, they announced another pregnancy. Their son, Trilby Fox Kay, was born on 3 February 2021. On 30 September 2024, Lacey announced she was expecting her third child. She gave birth to a girl on 17 January 2025.
In April 2021, Lacey asked for more help for parents. She spoke about those who have experienced pregnancy loss. She appeared on BBC Breakfast. She said the support system "needs reforming."
Lacey is good friends with her EastEnders co-stars. These include Jessie Wallace and Natalie Cassidy. They play Kat Slater and Sonia Fowler on the show.
