Lah-Lah's Live Shows
Lah-Lah loves performing live for kids! They started their first shows in January 2009 at places like the Sutherland Entertainment Centre. Later that year, in October 2009, they had a special two-week run of concerts at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. These shows were like "proms" but for kids, introducing them to different musical styles.
The band has performed at many big events. They opened the main stage entertainment for Australia Day celebrations in The Domain, Sydney in 2010. They also played at the St Kilda Festival. One of their biggest achievements was performing 24 sold-out shows at the famous Sydney Opera House in May 2010. These shows were part of the "Babies Proms" series.
Lah-Lah continued to tour and perform across Australia. They played at the Sydney Festival in 2011 with their show 'Lah-Lah's Musical Wonderland'. This show was featured at places like Hyde Park and the Riverside Theatre in Parramatta.
A very special show was 'Lah-Lah's BIG Live Band' in June 2011. The Sydney Opera House asked Lah-Lah to create this new show for their "Family Proms" series. This show was designed to give amazing musical experiences to all primary school-aged children. It featured an 11-piece big band, twenty child violinists, and twenty child singer/dancers, along with the main Lah-Lah quintet. They performed five concerts in the grand Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House.
Lah-Lah has also performed in other Australian cities. They played at the Powerkidz festival in Brisbane in July 2011. They also performed in Western Australia at the Worlds Festival in Fremantle in December 2011. In January 2012, they played at the Melbourne Recital Centre as part of the Music Play children's music festival.
The band continues to tour nationally, bringing their music to many festivals and venues. Some of these include the Kids Day Out festival in Sydney, the City Recital Hall Angel Place, Floriade Nightfest in Canberra, and the Roola Boola festival in Melbourne. They also perform at various Village Christmas Concerts each year.
Lah-Lah's Music Albums
Lah-Lah has recorded several albums for children. Their first album, Shake It Like This, was recorded in November 2008. They followed this with their second album, Making Music Lah-Lah's Way, in 2011. Their third album, Sing It Loud!, was recorded in 2014.
For a while, Lah-Lah released their albums independently. You could find them on their official website. Shake It Like This was also available digitally on the Australian iTunes Store. A big step for the band happened in October 2015. Lah-Lah signed with Sony Music! This meant their Lah-Lah's Adventures Sound Track album became available from November 6, 2015, reaching even more fans.
Lah-Lah on TV
Lah-Lah has also made a big splash on television! In July 2009, they filmed 12 music video clips from their Shake It Like This album. These clips, along with other fun parts, became their first music DVD, Lah-Lah's Big Live Band.
Soon after filming, Lah-Lah signed a deal with Nickelodeon Australia. Their music videos started airing daily on Nick Jr. Australia, a preschool channel, from September 13, 2009. These clips were also shown on Nickelodeon Southeast Asia and Nickelodeon New Zealand starting in March 2010.
In April 2013, Lah-Lah began making their own TV show called Lah-Lah's Adventures. This show had 26 episodes, each 12 minutes long. It was a mix of live action and animation, perfect for preschool kids. The show first aired in Australia in April 2014 on 7Two, part of the Seven Network. It also started broadcasting in September 2014 on CBeebies in Australia and New Zealand, and on BBC Kids and Knowledge Network in Canada.
Later, in late 2014, ABC TV bought the rights to Lah-Lah's Adventures. The show started airing on ABC Kids (Australia) and ABC iView from January 4, 2015. This series was a special co-production between Australia and Canada.
Another series starring Lah-Lah, called Lah-Lahs Stripy Sock Club, started airing on ABC Kids (Australia) in 2019. This show had 18 episodes, each about 7 minutes long.
