The Lake Hopatcong CDP includes several smaller communities. Some of these are right by the lake. These include Espanong, Prospect Point, Raccoon Island, and Woodport.
Other communities are a bit further inland. These are Hurdtown, Tierneys Corner, and Berkshire Valley.
Nearby Places
Lake Hopatcong is surrounded by other interesting places. To the west, across the lake, is the town of Hopatcong. This town is in Sussex County.
To the south, you'll find Mount Arlington. This area is part of Roxbury Township. Also to the south is the Lower Berkshire Valley CDP.
A smaller lake called Lake Shawnee is in the northeast part of the Lake Hopatcong CDP.
Getting Around Lake Hopatcong
New Jersey Route 15 is a main road that goes through the eastern side of the Lake Hopatcong community. If you go south on Route 15 for about 4 miles (6.4 km), you'll reach Interstate 80 in Wharton. If you head north for about 6 miles (9.7 km), you'll get to Sparta.
