Lake Luzerne is a town in New York, located in the southern part of Warren County. It's nestled within the beautiful Adirondack Park. This town is also part of the larger Glens Falls area. Lake Luzerne is found west of the city of Glens Falls. In 2020, about 3,079 people lived there.

A Look at Lake Luzerne's Past
People first settled in this area around 1770. The town was originally called Fairfield when it was formed in 1792. It was named after Anne-César, Chevalier de la Luzerne. He was a French Minister who helped the American revolutionary troops.
In 1808, the town's name changed to Luzerne. Later, in 1963, it became known as Lake Luzerne.

The southern and western edges of the town are next to Saratoga County and the Hudson River. To the north, Lake Luzerne borders the town of Warrensburg. The eastern side of the town is next to Queensbury and Lake George.
Just north of the bridge that crosses the Hudson River to Hadley, you'll find Rockwell Falls. This is the narrowest part of the entire Hudson River! South of this spot, the Sacandaga River flows into the Hudson.
