The Lamborghini Urus is a super cool SUV built by the famous Italian car company, Lamborghini. It's like a powerful sports car mixed with a big, comfy SUV! The Urus gets its amazing power from a special engine called a twin-turbo V8. It was first made in 2017 and started selling in February 2018.

The Urus Concept Car
Before the Urus was made, Lamborghini showed off a "concept car" version. This was at the Beijing Auto Show in China on April 23, 2012. It was also shown at a fancy car event called Pebble Beach later that year.
The concept car had a different engine. It used a 5.2-liter V10 engine, like the one in the Gallardo sports car. This engine was designed to make about 600 PS (592 hp; 441 kW) of power. The concept car also had an all-wheel drive system. This means power goes to all four wheels for better grip.
The final version of the Urus, which you can buy today, came out in 2017. It looked a bit different from the concept car. It also got a twin-turbo V8 engine instead of the V10.
Engine Power
The Lamborghini Urus uses a special engine that is different from other Lamborghinis. Most Lamborghinis have V10 or V12 engines. But the Urus uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. This engine is very powerful, making 650 PS (641 hp; 478 kW)!
This V8 engine is a changed version of an engine made by Audi. Audi is another car company that is part of the same group as Lamborghini. The engine parts are built in a Volkswagen factory in Hungary. Then, they are sent to Lamborghini's factory in Italy to be put into the Urus.
Speed and Driving Modes
The Urus engine makes its maximum power at 6,000 rotations per minute (rpm). It has its engine in the front and sends power to all four wheels. This helps it go super fast! The Urus can reach a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph). This makes it one of the fastest SUVs you can buy.
It can go from 0 to 100 km/h (about 62 mph) in just 3.6 seconds. And it can go from 0 to 200 km/h (about 124 mph) in only 12.8 seconds. That's quicker than many sports cars!
Like other modern Lamborghini cars, the Urus has different driving modes. These modes change how the car feels and performs. They help the driver handle different roads or situations. The modes are:
- Strada: This means "street" in Italian. It's for everyday driving.
- Sport: This mode makes the car feel more sporty and exciting.
- Corsa: This means "track" in Italian. It's for driving on a race track.
- Terra: This means "dirt" or "earth." It's for off-road driving.
- Sabbia: This means "sand." It's for driving on sandy surfaces.
- Neve: This means "snow." It's for driving in snowy conditions.
The Urus can seat either four or five people, depending on how it's set up inside.
