Landa is a small city in Bottineau County, North Dakota, United States. It was founded in 1904. In 2020, the census counted 41 people living there.
Landa's History
Landa began in 1904 because of the Great Northern Railway. The railroad was expanding west in 1903. This helped new towns like Landa start up.
The city was first called Strabane. Later, Norwegian immigrants settled there. They renamed the town Landa. This new name honored Daniel D. Landa and Theodore T. Landa. They were important early settlers in the area.
In the past, Landa was a busy place. It had a bank, a hardware store, and a lumber yard. There was also a hotel and other businesses. Landa officially became a city in 1922. By 1930, its population grew to 140 people.

Landa is found in Scotia Township. This area is in the northern part of Bottineau County.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city is very small. It covers about 0.20 square kilometers (0.08 square miles). All of this area is land. There are no large bodies of water within the city limits.
