Langrickenbach is a small town, also called a municipality, in the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland. It is part of the Kreuzlingen district.

History of Langrickenbach
Langrickenbach was first mentioned in old writings in the year 889. Back then, it was called Rihchinbahc. In 1351, the Lords of Helmsdorf took control of Langrickenbach and a nearby area called Greuter.
From 1521 to 1798, Langrickenbach belonged to the cathedral of Konstanz. During this time, any local court decisions made in Langrickenbach had to be approved by the main court in Konstanz.
The village church was first mentioned around the year 900. After the Protestant Reformation in 1529, Catholic people from Langrickenbach started going to church in the nearby town of Altnau.
The current municipality of Langrickenbach was formed in 1998. This happened when several smaller areas joined together. These areas were Herrenhof, Langrickenbach, Schönenbaumgarten, and Zuben.
Geography and Landscape
Langrickenbach covers an area of about 10.85 square kilometers (4.19 square miles). A large part of this land, about 76%, is used for farming. This means it has many fields for growing crops.
About 16.6% of the area is covered by forests. These are mostly dense, thick forests. The rest of the land, about 7.3%, has buildings and roads. A very small part, about 0.3%, includes rivers or lakes.
The town is located where two important roads meet. These roads connect Sulgen to Altnau and Amriswil to Konstanz. Langrickenbach includes the main village and other smaller settlements. These include Belzstadel, Unter-Greut, Dünnershaus, Herrenhof, Illighausen, Schönenbaumgarten, and Zuben.
Population and People
Langrickenbach has a population of about 1,099 people. In 2008, about 9.4% of the people living here were from other countries. Most people in Langrickenbach speak German, which is about 97.3% of the population. A smaller number of people speak Italian or Romansh.
In 2009, about 10.3% of the population were children aged 0 to 9 years old. Teenagers, aged 10 to 19, made up about 17.1% of the population. Adults aged 40 to 49 were the largest group, making up about 21.6%.
Most homes in Langrickenbach are single-family houses. In 2000, there were 374 households, with an average of 2.7 people living in each home. Many families living here are couples with children.
