LaserTank (also known as Laser Tank) is a fun puzzle game for computers that makes you think! This game is all about using your brain to solve tricky levels. It's free to play and you don't need super-fast reflexes, so it's not an action game. Instead, it's like playing chess or checkers because you need to plan your moves carefully. As you play more, you'll learn cool tricks to solve even the hardest levels!

How to Play LaserTank
LaserTank is played on a big square board, like a grid, that is 16 squares wide and 16 squares tall. Your goal in each level is to guide your tank to a special flag without getting stuck or "dying." You can move your tank in four directions: up, down, left, and right.
You also have a powerful laser! You can fire this laser to move or destroy different objects on the board. The game keeps track of how many moves and laser shots you use to finish a level. Your best scores are saved on a high score list. You can even compare your scores with other players around the world!
Getting More Levels and Tools
One of the coolest things about LaserTank is that you can download thousands of new levels! There's also a special tool called a level editor. This editor lets players create their very own levels. Once you make a new level, you can share it online for other players to download and try to solve.
Players can also create new visual themes for the game. These are called LTG (LaserTank Graphics) themes and they change how the game looks. There's even a setup tool that helps you update the game easily. This tool is great because it keeps your high scores safe and helps manage any changes from downloaded updates. You can find many other helpful tools and downloads on the official LaserTank website.
Different Types of Levels
The game has many different objects, which means there are lots of unique levels!
- Beginner Levels: These are easier levels, perfect for new players or those who are just starting out.
- Challenge Levels: These levels come in different difficulty settings, from easy to very hard. They will really test your puzzle-solving skills!
- Sokoban-like Levels: Some levels are similar to another puzzle game called Sokoban. In these, you have to push blocks around to solve the puzzle.
There are also "Special" levels. These levels are a bit different from the usual game. Some might be very artistic, while others might show off cool ideas. You can also find tutorial levels. These are designed to teach you all the tips and tricks of LaserTank and help you become a better player.
Playing in Other Languages
Do you want to play LaserTank in a different language? You can! There's a special tool called the LaserTank Translation Kit. This kit lets people create language packs for the game. You can currently play LaserTank in many languages, including French, Dutch, Spanish, German, and Chinese.
LaserTank Community
There's an online group where LaserTank players can connect and get help. You can ask other players for advice or find helpful documents to download. This group is a great place to talk about how to play the game, how to create new levels, and even discuss new versions of the game.
