You can find the Lasionycta poca moth mostly in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada. It also lives further west in the Coast Range of western British Columbia. If you travel south, you might spot it in the Cascades all the way to Okanogan County in Washington.
This moth prefers to live in alpine areas. This means it likes places high up in the mountains, often near the timberline. The timberline is the edge of the habitat where trees can grow. Sometimes, you might find these moths in nearby forests too, but they are most common in the open, high-altitude regions.
