Also, 70 percent finish college in six years. This is much higher than the national average for first-generation college students. College Track has centers in many cities across the U.S.
The XQ Super School Project
In September 2015, Laurene launched a big project called XQ: The Super School Project. She put $50 million into this project. Its goal is to create new and better high schools. It encourages teachers, students, and community leaders to come up with fresh ideas for learning. This includes changing school schedules, what students learn, and how technology is used. The idea is to update the old high school education model. XQ later gave another $50 million, awarding ten schools $10 million each.
Personal Life
Laurene Powell met Steve Jobs in October 1989. He was giving a talk at Stanford Business School, where she was a student. They got married on March 18, 1991. Their wedding was a traditional Buddhist ceremony.
Laurene Powell Jobs lives in Palo Alto, California. In 2024, she bought a home in San Francisco. She and Steve Jobs had three children: a son named Reed (born 1991) and two daughters, Erin (born 1995) and Eve (born 1998).
