Exploring Laurie's Location
Laurie is found near the southern edge of Morgan County. A small part of the city even stretches into Camden County. It's only about 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the famous Lake of the Ozarks.
The city is located along Missouri Route 5. This road goes southeast for 3 miles (4.8 km) to Sunrise Beach. It also heads north for 8 miles (13 km) to Gravois Mills. Versailles, which is the main town for Morgan County, is about 18 miles (29 km) north of Laurie.

The U.S. Census Bureau says that Laurie covers a total area of 5.50 square miles (14.24 square kilometers). All of this area is land. The city is built on a high area, or ridge. From this ridge, water flows in all directions towards the Lake of the Ozarks.
Fun Events in Laurie
Every year, from mid-November until New Year's Day, Laurie hosts a special event. It's called the "Enchanted Village of Lights." You can drive through a village area filled with beautiful Christmas lights.
