Lavey (which means "Place of Elms" in Irish) is a Roman Catholic parish located in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It is a special kind of area used by the church.
Lavey is surrounded by other parishes like Castledawson, Maghera, Ballyscullion (Bellaghy), Greenlough, and Kilrea. While Lavey doesn't have any really big towns, it is home to several smaller villages and hamlets. These include Gulladuff, Knockloughrim, Culnady, Tamlaght O'Crilly, and Curran. The parish also includes about fifteen different townlands, which are small land divisions.
Lavey is also closely connected to the civil parish of Termoneeny. This civil parish covers the southern part of Lavey. It's interesting to note that there is another parish named Lavey in County Cavan, which is in the Republic of Ireland.
