Lee Min-Sung (Hangul: 이민성; born on June 23, 1973) is a famous former South Korean football player. He is now a football coach. He played as a defender for several teams. These teams included Busan I'cons, Pohang Steelers, and FC Seoul. He also played for the South Korean national team.

Lee Min-Sung was part of the South Korean team in the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He is especially remembered for scoring the winning goal against Japan. This important goal happened during the qualification games for the 1998 FIFA World Cup.

Playing Career

Lee Min-Sung played for many football clubs in South Korea. He started his professional career with Pusan Daewoo Royals, which later became Busan I'Cons. During his time in the military, he played for Sangmu.

After that, he joined Pohang Steelers and then FC Seoul. He finished his playing career with Yongin City FC. As a defender, he helped his teams protect their goal.

International Matches

Lee Min-Sung also played for his country, South Korea. He was part of the national team for many years. He played in important tournaments like the FIFA World Cup.

He scored two goals for the national team. One of his most famous goals was against Japan. This goal helped South Korea qualify for the 1998 FIFA World Cup.

Coaching Career

After he stopped playing, Lee Min-Sung became a football coach. He started as an assistant coach for Yongin City FC. He has coached for several teams since then.

He worked as a coach for teams like Guangzhou Evergrande and Gangwon FC. He also coached for Jeonnam Dragons FC and Ulsan Hyundai. From 2018 to 2020, he was an assistant manager for the South Korea U-23 team. Since 2021, he has been the manager for Daejeon Hana Citizen.
