Les Montets is a town in Switzerland. It is located in the Broye district of the canton of Fribourg. In 2004, Les Montets was formed when four smaller towns joined together: Aumont, Frasses, Granges-de-Vesin, and Montet.

History of Les Montets
Les Montets became one municipality in 2004. Before that, it was made up of four separate towns.
Geography and Land Use
Les Montets covers an area of about 10.3 square kilometers (4 square miles). A large part of this land, almost 60%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 29% of the area.
About 11% of the land has buildings or roads. A very small amount, less than 1%, is made up of rivers or lakes. The rest is land that cannot be used for farming or building.
Most of the forested land is dense forest. Some areas also have orchards or small groups of trees. For farming, most land is used for growing crops. Some areas are pastures for animals. All the water in the town comes from flowing rivers and streams.
Population and People
Les Montets has a population of 1,535. About 14% of the people living here are from other countries. Over the last 10 years, the population has grown by about 17%. Most of this growth is because people moved here.
Most people in Les Montets speak French as their main language (about 84%). German is the second most common language (about 6%). Portuguese is the third most common (about 3%).
In 2008, the population was almost evenly split between males (49.2%) and females (50.8%). Most residents are Swiss citizens.
The town has a good mix of ages. About 10.5% of the population are young children (0-9 years old). Teenagers (10-19 years old) make up about 12.3%. Adults aged 20-59 make up a large portion of the population. There are also many senior citizens living in Les Montets.
New homes are being built in Les Montets. In 2009, about 7 new homes were built for every 1000 residents. The number of empty homes was very low in 2010, at only 0.8%.
