Nuvilly is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Broye district of the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. It's a quiet place with a rich history and beautiful nature.

Nuvilly has been around for a long time! The first time it was ever written about was in the year 1242. Back then, it was known by a slightly different name: Nuovillie.

Nuvilly covers an area of about 4 square kilometers (about 1.5 square miles). A big part of this land, about 74%, is used for farming. This means lots of fields for growing crops and pastures for animals.
About 18% of Nuvilly is covered by forests, which are great for nature and wildlife. The remaining 7.3% of the land is where buildings and roads are located.
Nuvilly is in the Broye district, in a special part of the Estavayer-le-Lac area. It sits in the Broye valley.

Like the rest of Switzerland, Nuvilly has a mild climate. However, because of its location in a valley, Nuvilly often experiences thick fog. This fog can cover the town regularly from mid-September to the end of April.

This church is dedicated to James the Great. It was renovated between 2006 and 2007 and is very well kept. Visitors can admire its lovely stained glass windows, including one of Joseph and another of Bernadette. There's also a special three-part painting (a triptych) near the altar. The church is a wonderful example of the local building style.
