Kids Encyclopedia Facts

The Lincoln family was an American family with roots in England. It includes all the children and grandchildren of Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln.

There were ten known direct descendants of Abraham Lincoln. The direct family line is thought to have ended when Robert Todd Lincoln Beckwith passed away in 1985. He did not have any children.

However, the Lincoln family still has many other relatives alive today. These relatives share common ancestors with the former president. For example, actors George Clooney and Tom Hanks are related to Lincoln's mother, Nancy Hanks Lincoln. Also, activist Konrad Juengling is a descendant of Lincoln's great-grandfather, John Lincoln. Actor Ben Miller also found a family link to the Lincolns.
