Power Rangers Turbo is a TV show that came out in 1997. It is the fifth season in the Power Rangers series. Before the show started, there was a movie called Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie.
Like other Power Rangers shows, Power Rangers Turbo uses footage from a Japanese series. This time, it was from Gekisou Sentai Carranger. This season was special because it had a child actor as the new Blue Ranger. Also, some very old characters like Zordon and Alpha 5 left the show. The original team of Rangers also left and new characters took their places.
Story of Power Rangers Turbo
After defeating a villain named Maligore, the Turbo Power Rangers finish high school. The team includes Tommy Oliver, Adam Park, Tanya Sloan, and Katherine Hillard. A new 12-year-old Blue Ranger, Justin Stewart, skips grades and joins them at Angel Grove High.
The evil Divatox wants revenge on the Rangers. At the start of the season, Zordon and Alpha 5, who were the Rangers' mentors for a long time, go back to Zordon's home planet, Eltar. New helpers arrive: Dimitria of Inquiris and Alpha 6. Other changes happen too. Ernie leaves the Juice Bar, and Lt. Stone takes over.
A new ally, the Blue Senturion, comes from the year 2000. He brings a warning that Lord Zedd, Rita Repulsa, The Machine Empire, and Divatox will team up to destroy the universe. But Divatox messes up his message, so it's not fully clear.
Later, Tommy, Adam, Tanya, and Katherine decide to move on to new parts of their lives. They choose new people to become Rangers. T.J. Johnson becomes the Red Ranger, Carlos Vallerte the Green Ranger, Ashley Hammond the Yellow Ranger, and Cassie Chan the Pink Ranger. Justin stays as the Blue Ranger.
A mysterious new ally, the Phantom Ranger, also joins the team. The Rangers soon learn that a powerful villain named Dark Specter has captured Zordon. Zordon warns them not to try and rescue him, or Earth will be in danger.
Later, the Rangers lose their giant robots, the Turbo and Rescue Megazords. This happens in a big fight with Divatox's strongest monster, Goldgoyle. Dimitria and the Blue Senturion leave for Eltar to help Zordon. Divatox then finds the secret Power Chamber where the Rangers get their powers. Her army attacks and destroys the Power Chamber, defeating the Rangers.
But before Divatox can finish them, she gets a message. Dark Specter has captured Zordon and ordered her to leave. The powerless Rangers then leave Earth to go into space and save Zordon. Justin decides to stay behind with his father. These events lead directly into the next Power Rangers series, Power Rangers in Space.
