List of tallest buildings in Hobart facts for kids
This article lists the tallest buildings in Hobart, a city in Tasmania, Australia. Buildings are ranked by their height. The height is measured to the top of a spire (a pointy top part of a building), but not to antennas. Most of these tall buildings are in the city centre. However, the 19-storey Wrest Point Casino is a bit further away. It is 73 metres (240 ft) tall and is the tallest building in all of Tasmania.
Hobart has rules about how tall buildings can be. This helps keep the city's special look, with the Derwent River and Mount Wellington nearby. The maximum height allowed is usually 42 metres (138 ft). Some buildings are taller because they were built before these rules. The Hobart City Council can also make exceptions if a new tall building would really help the city.
Outside of Hobart, other tall structures in Tasmania include the Shot Tower, Taroona (58 metres or 190 ft) and the Silos Hotel in Launceston (either 46 metres or 151 ft, or 35 metres or 115 ft).

Future Tall Buildings in Hobart
This section lists tall buildings that are currently being built, have been approved, or are planned for Hobart.
A hotel planned for MONA might become one of Tasmania's tallest buildings if it is approved. This is because it is outside the main city area, so height rules might be different.
Another planned building, 145 Liverpool Street, would be a very large office building. However, it is not certain if it will be built because it has been hard to find businesses to rent space there.
