Lloyd Wade is an English gospel and soul singer. He is also a pop vocal coach from South London. He became known in the Christian music scene in the 1990s. He performed with his brothers Denis, Derek, and David in a group called the Wades. They even played at Champion of the World in Wembley Stadium in 1997.
Lloyd was working as a vocal coach and teacher. He taught social behavior in an education department. Then, he appeared on the first series of The X Factor in 2004. He made it into the top 5 contestants in the "over 25" group. This group was mentored by Simon Cowell.

Lloyd Wade's Musical Journey
Lloyd Wade learned a lot about gospel music by singing with his brothers. Their group, The Wades, was even nominated for a MOBO award. They toured all over Europe and Australia for 18 years in the 1990s. They played at famous places like The Royal Festival Hall and Wembley Arena. They also performed at the Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane Entertainment Centres.
Their biggest audience was at the Chicago Gospel Festival. About 100,000 people watched them perform live! The Wades also appeared on many radio and television shows.
Becoming a Vocal Coach
Lloyd took regular singing lessons when he was young. In 1991, he became a vocal coach himself. He worked closely with David and Carrie Grant. They were judges on BBC Fame Academy. Lloyd was a session singer and an associate vocal coach for their company.
Lloyd helped many singers improve their voices. This included Daniel Bedingfield and Natasha Bedingfield. He helped them early in their careers before they became famous.
Singing with Pop Stars
In 2010, Lloyd sang the main part on Eliza Doolittle's song "Pack Up". This song became a top ten hit in the UK, reaching number 5. Lloyd appeared with Eliza Doolittle on TV and radio shows across Europe in 2010 and 2011.

Coaching for The X Factor
Lloyd provided singers for the background vocal choirs on The X Factor in 2007 and 2008. In 2011, he joined The X Factor vocal coaching team. He worked as an associate vocal coach with the judges. These judges included Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Kelly Rowland, and Tulisa Contostavlos.
He worked with many finalists that year. Some of them were Little Mix, Marcus Collins, Amelia Lily, and Misha B.

The X Factor
In 2004, Lloyd Wade successfully auditioned for the first series of The X Factor. He made it to the judges' houses stage. He was in the "over 25s" category. His mentor, Simon Cowell, decided not to send him through to the live shows. Lloyd was eliminated. Simon later told Lloyd's manager that he regretted not choosing Lloyd.
Britain's Got Talent
In 2013, Lloyd Wade auditioned for Britain's Got Talent. He was with a group called Band of Voices. Simon Cowell, who was a judge, recognized him. Band of Voices made it to the semi-finals. They performed on the first live show. Even though they gained many fans, the group was eliminated by public vote that night.
In February 2017, it was announced that Lloyd Wade would star in a show called Soul Town. This show was performed at Butlins Holiday Resorts. It ran from February to December 2017.
