Early Life and Music Beginnings
When Natasha Bedingfield was a teenager, she formed a dance group called The DNA Algorithm with her brother Daniel and sister Nikola. This group helped her explore different music styles and improve her songwriting. She sang lead vocals for the group, performing dance-pop songs about being independent and strong. These themes later appeared in her solo music. At 14, she also sang on an album called Refined Intricacy.
Natasha studied psychology for a year at the University of Greenwich. However, she decided to leave to focus on singing and writing songs. She started by recording demo songs in friends' garages and sharing them with record companies. In the early 2000s, she also wrote and recorded songs for Hillsong Church UK. Her songs were featured on their live albums and a children's album called Jesus Is My Superhero.
