Natasha Anne Bedingfield (born 26 November 1981) is a British and New Zealand singer and songwriter. She is famous for her upbeat pop songs that mix in R&B sounds.
Her first album, Unwritten, came out in 2004 and was a huge hit around the world, selling over 2.3 million copies. The album's most famous song, also called "Unwritten", earned her a Grammy Award nomination. She was also nominated for Best British Female Artist at the Brit Awards in 2005 and 2006. Her song "These Words" became her first number-one hit in the United Kingdom.
Bedingfield has released other popular songs like "Pocketful of Sunshine" and "Love Like This". She has sold over 20 million records worldwide. In 2012, the music channel VH1 named her one of the 100 Greatest Women in Music.

Early life
Natasha Anne Bedingfield was born in England to parents from New Zealand. She grew up in both London and Auckland, New Zealand.
When she was a teenager, Natasha and her siblings, Daniel and Nikola, formed a music group called The DNA Algorithm. This helped her practice songwriting and explore different types of music. The group's songs were often about being independent and strong, which are ideas she later used in her own music.
Bedingfield went to the University of Greenwich for a year to study psychology. However, she left to focus on her music career. 2007–2008: N.B. and Pocketful of Sunshine

Bedingfield's second album, N.B., was released in Europe in 2007. It had hit songs like "I Wanna Have Your Babies" and "Soulmate".
For North America, she released a different version of the album in 2008 called Pocketful of Sunshine. This album included some songs from N.B. and some new ones. The singles "Love like This" and the title track "Pocketful of Sunshine" were very successful in the United States.
In 2008, Bedingfield joined other famous singers like Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Mariah Carey to record a charity song called "Just Stand Up!". The song was made to support cancer research.
2009–2011: The Strip Me album

She also wrote music for other artists and for movies. In 2014, she sang "Who I Am" for the Disney movie The Pirate Fairy. In 2017, she sang "More Of Me" for the TV show Tangled: Before Ever After. She also toured with the popular band Train.
2018–present: Roll with Me and new success
In 2019, Bedingfield released her fourth album, Roll with Me. It was her first album in almost nine years.
In 2023, her song "Unwritten" became popular again after it was featured in the movie Anyone but You. The song went viral, and a new generation of fans discovered her music. She even performed the song with the movie's stars, Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, at the People's Choice Awards.
The song also became a surprise anthem for the English football team Burnley F.C.. After the team was promoted in 2025, Bedingfield made a surprise appearance at their stadium to perform the song for the cheering crowd.
Charity work
Bedingfield supports several charities. She is an ambassador for Global Angels, a children's charity started by her mother, Molly Bedingfield. In 2006, she traveled to India to visit an orphanage and a camp for children in need. She said she was shocked by what she saw and wanted to help.

Personal life
On 21 March 2009, Bedingfield married Matt Robinson, an American businessman. They have a son named Solomon Dylan, who was born in November 2017. She currently lives in New York.
