Loch Eilt in the Movies!
Loch Eilt has been used as a filming location for several movies. It appeared in the film Local Hero in 1980.
It also featured in the magical world of Harry Potter. The loch was used for scenes in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (2010).
The famous island used for Harry Potter in Loch Eilt is called Eilean na Moine. This island was used to represent Dumbledore's grave in the films. However, the grave itself was later digitally placed on Loch Arkaig in the final movie.
