Logan Daniel Ryan (born February 9, 1991) is an American former professional football player. He played as a defensive back in the National Football League (NFL) for eleven seasons.
Ryan played college football at Rutgers. He was then chosen by the New England Patriots in the 2013 NFL Draft. He also played for the Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and San Francisco 49ers. For most of his career, he played as a cornerback, but he switched to safety in his later years.

Early Life and College Football
Logan Ryan grew up in Berlin, New Jersey. He went to Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, New Jersey. There, he was a star player for the Eastern Vikings high school team. He was recognized as an all-state player at both cornerback and quarterback.
After high school, Ryan played college football for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team. He was a top player in the Big East Conference. In 2011, he was named to the second-team All-Big East. The next year, in 2012, he made the first-team All-Big East. He was also named a first-team All-American by Pro Football Weekly in 2012.
After his junior year, Ryan decided to enter the 2013 NFL draft. This meant he would not play his final year at Rutgers.
Playing in the NFL
Logan Ryan was picked by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He was the 14th cornerback chosen that year. He signed a four-year contract with the Patriots.
New England Patriots (2013–2016)
2013 Season: Rookie Year
Ryan started his NFL journey as a fourth cornerback for the Patriots. He made his NFL debut in a game against the Buffalo Bills. In Week 7, he got his first NFL start against the New York Jets. In that game, he made his first NFL interception and returned it for a 79-yard touchdown. This was his first career touchdown.
Later in the season, Ryan became a starter. He had a great rookie year, with five interceptions and 1.5 sacks. The Patriots made it to the playoffs. Ryan played in the Divisional Round against the Indianapolis Colts.
2014 Season: Super Bowl Champion
Ryan continued to play an important role for the Patriots. He had two interceptions and six pass deflections during the season. The Patriots had a strong year, finishing with a 12–4 record.
On February 1, 2015, Ryan played in Super Bowl XLIX. The Patriots won the Super Bowl by beating the Seattle Seahawks 28–24. This was his first Super Bowl championship.
2015 Season: Becoming a Starter
Ryan became a full-time starting cornerback for the Patriots in 2015. He had a career-high 14 pass deflections and four interceptions that season. He was a key part of the Patriots' defense.
The Patriots made the playoffs again. Ryan made his first NFL postseason start against the Kansas City Chiefs.
2016 Season: Second Super Bowl Win
Ryan was named a starting cornerback for the second year in a row. He had a career-high 92 tackles and two interceptions. He also played as a nickelback, covering receivers in the middle of the field.
The Patriots had an amazing season, going 14–2. On February 5, 2017, Ryan started in Super Bowl LI. The Patriots made an incredible comeback, winning 34–28 in overtime against the Atlanta Falcons. This gave Ryan his second Super Bowl championship.
Tennessee Titans (2017–2019)
2017 Season: Joining the Titans
In 2017, Logan Ryan signed a three-year contract with the Tennessee Titans. He immediately became a starting cornerback for the team. He finished his first season with the Titans with 62 tackles and 11 pass deflections.
The Titans made the playoffs. They won their first game against the Kansas City Chiefs. However, they lost to Ryan's former team, the Patriots, in the next round.
2018 Season: Injury and Recovery
Ryan started the 2018 season as a key cornerback for the Titans. Unfortunately, he broke his fibula (a bone in his lower leg) in Week 15. This injury ended his season early. He finished with 76 tackles and four sacks.
2019 Season: Career Highs
Ryan came back strong from his injury in 2019. He had an amazing season, setting new career highs. He recorded 113 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 18 pass deflections, and four interceptions.

In the playoffs, the Titans faced the Patriots. In the final seconds of the game, Ryan intercepted a pass from his former teammate Tom Brady. He returned it for a 9-yard touchdown, securing a 20–13 upset win for the Titans. This play helped the Titans advance further in the playoffs.
New York Giants (2020–2021)
2020 Season: Switching Positions
In 2020, Ryan signed with the New York Giants. This was a big year for him because he switched from playing cornerback to playing safety. In Week 9, he made a crucial interception against the Washington Football Team to help the Giants win 23–20.
He signed a new contract with the Giants in December 2020. He finished the season with 94 tackles and one interception.
2021 Season
Ryan continued to play safety for the Giants in 2021. He had a career-high 117 total tackles that season. He was released by the Giants in March 2022.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2022)
In March 2022, Ryan signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played in nine games, recording 37 tackles and one interception.
San Francisco 49ers (2023)
In December 2023, Ryan joined the San Francisco 49ers. He played in five games and made 13 tackles. He also played in Super Bowl LVIII, where the 49ers lost in overtime.
Retirement
On April 9, 2024, Logan Ryan announced that he was retiring from the NFL after eleven seasons.

Personal Life
Logan Ryan is married to Ashley, and they have two children, Avery and Otto. Together, they started The Ryan Animal Rescue Foundation (RARF.org). This foundation helps animal welfare groups. It encourages people to adopt pets and offers grants and learning chances.
Every month on the 26th, which is his jersey number, Ryan shares a picture of a dog needing a home on social media. He uses the hashtag #ryansmonthlyrescue. Logan's older brother, Jordan, is an engineer.
