Loki (comics) facts for kids
Loki is a fictional villain who appears in comic books created by Marvel Comics. He is known as a "supervillain" because he has many amazing superpowers. Loki can change his shape and use magic, which is called sorcery.
This character is based on the god Loki from ancient Norse mythology. The comic book version of Loki first showed up in a comic called Venus No. 6 in August 1949. He was created by famous writers and artists like Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, and Jack Kirby.
Loki's Family and Role
Loki is the brother and often the enemy of Thor, another famous Marvel hero. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies, Loki is a very important character. He starts as a villain but later becomes more of an antihero. This means he sometimes does good things, even if he's still a bit mischievous.
Loki in the Movies
The actor Tom Hiddleston plays Loki in the movies. In the films, Loki is first believed to be Thor's brother and the son of Odin. However, he later finds out he was adopted. He is actually a Jötunn, which is a type of giant. His real father is King Laufey, who rules a realm called Jötunheim.
