Loucheiz Purifoy (born December 16, 1992) is an American professional football player. He plays as a defensive back. Currently, he is a free agent, meaning he is not signed with any team.
Purifoy played college football for the University of Florida. After college, he joined the Indianapolis Colts in 2014. He has also played for several other teams, including the Seattle Seahawks, BC Lions, Ottawa Redblacks, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Edmonton Elks.

Early Life and High School Sports
Loucheiz Purifoy was born in Pensacola, Florida. He went to Pine Forest High School in Pensacola. There, he was a star player on the high school football team.
He played many different positions, like quarterback, running back, and wide receiver. Purifoy was also a talented athlete in track and field. He was very good at the long jump and triple jump. He also ran in the 200 meters race.
College Football Career
Purifoy earned a scholarship to play football at the University of Florida. He played for the Florida Gators football team from 2011 to 2013.
In 2011, as a freshman, he played in all 13 games. He was a reserve cornerback and played on special teams. In 2012, as a sophomore, he started in 12 games. He made 51 tackles that season. As a junior in 2013, he started in seven games. He had 24 tackles, two interceptions, and two quarterback sacks.
After his junior year, on November 30, 2013, Purifoy decided to enter the 2014 NFL draft. This meant he would not play his senior year of college football.
Professional Football Journey
Indianapolis Colts Team
On May 12, 2014, Loucheiz Purifoy signed with the Indianapolis Colts. He competed for a spot on the team with another cornerback, Marcus Burley. Both players did well. The Colts decided to trade Burley to the Seattle Seahawks.
Purifoy stayed with the Colts and was on their main 53-player roster. He played in 11 games during the 2014 season. His playing time increased as the season went on. The Colts released him on November 27, 2014.
Seattle Seahawks Team
The Seattle Seahawks picked up Purifoy on November 28, 2014. However, he was released a few days later on December 1, 2014. This happened after he did not pass a physical exam. While he was a free agent, the NFL suspended him for the first ten weeks of the 2015 season for violating league rules.
BC Lions (First Time)
On March 21, 2016, Purifoy signed a contract with the BC Lions. This team plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL). His coach, Wally Buono, said Purifoy had a very good first season in the CFL. He was not eligible for the rookie of the year award because he had played in an NFL game before.
Purifoy had another strong season with the Lions in 2017. He made 49 tackles on defense and three tackles on special teams. He also had three interceptions. After the 2017 season, the Lions did not re-sign him, and he became a free agent.
Ottawa Redblacks Team
On February 13, 2018, Purifoy signed a one-year contract with the Ottawa Redblacks. He played in the first seven games of the season for them. He had 29 tackles, one interception, and forced a fumble. The Redblacks released him on August 6, 2018.
Saskatchewan Roughriders Team
Just one day after being released by the Redblacks, Purifoy signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He played for them until 2021.
BC Lions (Second Time)
On February 8, 2022, Purifoy signed with the BC Lions again. He played in all 18 regular season games for the Lions. He made 55 tackles, nine special-teams tackles, and three interceptions. He also had one sack. Because of his great performance, he was named a CFL All-Star. He was released by the Lions on January 4, 2023.
Edmonton Elks Team
On January 9, 2023, it was announced that Purifoy had signed with the Edmonton Elks. He played for the Elks in 2023 and 2024. He was released by the team in January 2025.
On January 17, 2025, the CFL announced that Purifoy would be suspended for two games. This was for violating league rules.
