Lowry City is a small city located in St. Clair County, Missouri, in the United States. In 2020, about 613 people lived there. Lowry City is special because it's where the Ozark Mountains meet the wide-open Great Plains.

History of Lowry City
Lowry City was officially planned and laid out in 1871. This happened when a new railroad line was built to connect the towns of Clinton and Osceola.
The community was named by a man named Jon Hancock. He named it after Mr. Lowry, who was a business partner of the first person to settle in the area. A post office has been open in Lowry City since 1871.
