Lucki Camel Jr. (born May 30, 1996), known as LUCKI, is an American rapper and music producer. He is from Chicago, Illinois. Many people see him as an important artist in a certain style of hip-hop music. He first became known in 2013. This was after he released his first mixtape, Alternative Trap.

LUCKI then released more music projects. These included his mixtape Freewave 3 (2019). He later released EPs (Extended Plays) like Days B4 III (2019) and Almost There (2020). He signed with the record label Empire. LUCKI became more widely known with songs like "New Drank" and "Super Urus." "Super Urus" was the first song from his first studio album, FLAWLESS LIKE ME (2022). This album was very popular, reaching number 12 on the Billboard 200 music chart. His second studio album, s*x m*ney dr*gs (2023), also did well, reaching number 15.

Early Life and Music Beginnings

Lucki grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He listened to artists like Erykah Badu, Prince, and The Notorious B.I.G. when he was young. Today, he finds inspiration from artists such as Chief Keef, Future, and Babyface Ray.

Lucki started rapping when he was in his first year of high school. His friends encouraged him to keep going. When he was 16, he left high school to focus on making music full-time.

Music Journey

2012–2014: Early Songs and First Projects

Lucki was first known as "Lucki Eck$." His very first song and music video was called "Untouchable Lucki." A music blog called ELEVATOR helped produce and share it. Lucki's friends introduced his music to ELEVATOR.

When he was 17, Lucki released his first big music project, Alternative Trap. He worked with his friend and producer Plu2o Nash on this. Music blogs like Fake Shore Drive and Complex noticed him. They liked his unique style, especially on his song "Count on Me." This song got over 700,000 views on YouTube.

Other musicians also started to notice Lucki. In 2014, artist FKA Twigs worked with him on a song called "Ouch Ouch." This was a way to celebrate her visit to Chicago. Later that year, Lucki released his second project, Body High. He also made a song called "Weightin' On" with rapper Danny Brown. In December 2014, Lucki worked with another Chicago musician, Chance the Rapper, on a song called "Stevie Wonder."

2015–2017: Changing His Name and New Music

In 2015, Lucki released his third mixtape, X - Volume 1. He released it on his 19th birthday, May 30. A few months later, he started releasing freestyles for his first extended play (EP), FREEWAVE EP. This EP had ten songs.

In January 2016, Lucki announced he was changing his name from Lucki Eck$ to just Lucki. He said the old name felt "childish" and that he had "grown" from it. He later changed his name to be all capitalized, LUCKI. He released his second EP, Son of Sam, in March 2016. His fourth mixtape, FREEWAVE II, came out in August 2016. His fifth mixtape, Watch My Back, was released in May 2017. It included the popular song "SUNSET."

2019–2021: Chart Success and Collaborations

LUCKI released his sixth mixtape, FREEWAVE 3, on February 14, 2019. It featured the song "More Than Ever." His tenth EP, Days B4 III, came out in October. This EP had the popular song "4 The Betta." It was his first project to appear on a major music chart, reaching number 188 on the Billboard 200.

His twelfth EP, Almost There, was released in May 2020. It was a special release for fans while they waited for his next big project. In February 2021, he released the song "Greed" with Lil Yachty. In November 2021, he released "NEPTUNE V.S INDUSTRY." This was the first song from his mixtape WAKE UP LUCKI, which he made with producer F1lthy. The mixtape came out in December 2021.

2022–Present: Studio Albums and Continued Growth

In 2022, LUCKI released several new songs. These included "Super Urus" (February 2022), "Y NOT?" (June 2022), and "COINCIDENCE" (August 2022). "COINCIDENCE" also had a music video directed by Cole Bennett.

After some delays, LUCKI released his first studio album, FLAWLESS LIKE ME, on September 23, 2022. It featured guest artists like Future and Babyface Ray. This album became his highest-charting project, reaching number 12 on the Billboard 200 chart.

In January 2023, LUCKI was featured on Trippie Redd's album Mansion Musik on the song "Die Die." He released the song "Leave Her" in April 2023. On his 27th birthday, he released "No Bap." LUCKI announced his second studio album, s*x m*ney dr*gs, in July 2023. It was released just two days later and had the most streams on Spotify for him in a single day.

On March 23, 2024, LUCKI released a song called "All Love." His third studio album, GEMINI!, was released later that year on June 14, 2024.
