Lucki Camel Jr. (born May 30, 1996), known by his stage name LUCKI, is an American rapper and record producer from Chicago, Illinois. He is known as an important artist in the underground hip-hop scene. LUCKI first became known in 2013 when he released his first mixtape, Alternative Trap.
After signing with the record label Empire, he released more projects. These included the EPs Days B4 III (2019) and Almost There (2020). He gained more fame with his popular singles "New Drank" and "Super Urus." "Super Urus" was the main single from his first studio album, FLAWLESS LIKE ME (2022). The album reached number 12 on the Billboard 200 chart. His second album, ... ... ... (2023), reached number 15 on the same chart.

Early Life
Lucki Camel Jr. was born on May 30, 1996, on the West Side of Chicago, Illinois. Growing up, he listened to artists like Erykah Badu, Prince, and The Notorious B.I.G.. He has said that rappers Chief Keef, Future, and Babyface Ray, along with producer Kanye West, are some of his biggest inspirations today.
LUCKI began rapping during his first year of high school after his friends encouraged him. He later decided to leave Proviso East High School at age 16 to focus on his music career full-time.
Career
2012–2014: Getting Started
At the beginning of his career, LUCKI was known as "Lucki Eck$." His first single and music video, "Untouchable Lucki," was shared by the music blog Elevator. This helped him get noticed.
In 2013, at age 17, LUCKI released his first mixtape, Alternative Trap. The project got positive reviews from music blogs like Complex and Noisey. His unique style, especially on the song "Count on Me," helped him stand out.
As his music became more popular, other artists started to notice him. In 2014, he worked with FKA Twigs on a song called "Ouch Ouch." That same year, he released his second mixtape, Body High. He also worked with rapper Danny Brown on a track called "Weightin' On." Later that year, he released the song "Stevie Wonder" with fellow Chicago artist Chance the Rapper.
2015–2017: New Name and More Music
In 2015, LUCKI released his third mixtape, X - Volume 1, on his 19th birthday. Later that year, he released his first extended play (EP), called FREEWAVE EP.
In 2016, he changed his stage name from Lucki Eck$ to just Lucki. He said the old name felt "childish" and he had grown as an artist. He later started writing his name in all capital letters, as LUCKI. He released his second EP, Son of Sam, followed by the mixtapes FREEWAVE II (2016) and Watch My Back (2017).
2019–2021: Charting Success
LUCKI released his sixth mixtape, FREEWAVE 3, in 2019. It included the popular song "More Than Ever." Later that year, his EP Days B4 III was released. It was his first project to appear on the Billboard 200 chart, at number 188.
In 2020, he released the EP Almost There for his fans. In 2021, he released a mixtape called WAKE UP LUCKI with producer F1lthy.
2022–Present: Studio Albums
Throughout 2022, LUCKI released several singles, including "Super Urus" and "COINCIDENCE." The music video for "COINCIDENCE" was directed by the well-known director Cole Bennett.
On September 23, 2022, LUCKI released his first studio album, FLAWLESS LIKE ME. It featured guest artists like Future and Babyface Ray. The album was a big success, reaching number 12 on the Billboard 200 chart.
His second studio album, ... ... ..., was released on July 7, 2023. It also performed well, reaching number 15 on the charts. On June 14, 2024, LUCKI released his third studio album, GEMINI!. It featured guest appearances from artists like Lil Yachty and Future.
