Lyman is a small town in Skagit County, Washington, United States. In 2020, about 423 people lived there. It is part of the larger Mount Vernon-Anacortes area.

History of Lyman
Long ago, before American settlers arrived, the area around Lyman was home to the Chobaabish people. They were a group of the Skagit Native American tribe. They had two winter homes near where Lyman is today. One was by Lyman Slough, and another was across the Skagit River.
The town of Lyman got its name from its first postmaster, B.L. Lyman. The town officially became a town on May 8, 1909. In November 2017, floodwaters caused some property along the river to wash away.
