Lyons Falls is a small village located in Lewis County, New York, in the United States. It's a quiet place where the Black River flows. In 2010, about 566 people lived there. The village sits right on the edge of two towns, West Turin and Lyonsdale. You can find it where state Routes 12 and 12D meet. It is about 14 miles (23 km) south of Lowville, which is the county seat.

Village History
The village of Lyons Falls has an interesting past. It was once a very important spot because it was the northern end of the Black River Canal. This canal was finished in 1858. Canals like this helped transport goods and people across New York a long time ago.

Village Geography
Lyons Falls is located in the southern part of Lewis County. Its exact location is 43°37′1″N 75°21′42″W / 43.61694°N 75.36167°W. The village covers a total area of about 1.1 square miles (2.8 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.
Rivers and Waterfalls
The village is famous for a 70-foot (21 m) waterfall on the Black River. This river flows north right through the village. Just above the waterfall, another river called the Moose River joins the Black River from the east. Most of Lyons Falls is on the west side of the Black River, in the town of West Turin. However, a smaller part, including Riverside Park, is on the east side of the river in the town of Lyonsdale.
Roads and Routes
New York State Route 12 runs along the west side of Lyons Falls. This road goes north for 14 miles (23 km) to Lowville. It also goes south for 10 miles (16 km) to Boonville. Another road, New York State Route 12D, crosses Route 12. You can connect to it using Cherry Street. Route 12D also leads south to Boonville, but it takes a slightly different, more western route that is about 11 miles (18 km) long.
